Maloney (NY-12), Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and Chairman Gerry Connolly (VA-11) convened with labor leaders and climate advocates for a press conference to deliver over 150,000 petitions to the United States Postal Service (USPS) Board of Governors and over 280,000 emails to Congress urging the USPS reconsider their current plan and update their nationwide fleet with electric, union-built vehicles.

HELENA — Yesterday, a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' panel ruled Trump's Office of Surface Mining (OSM) wrongly approved an expansion of Signal Peak's Bull Mountain Underground Coal Mine near Roundup, Montana. OSM largely ignored the fact that the proposed 175 million ton expansion would release 240 million tons of greenhouse gas pollution over 11 years. In a 2-1 decision, Judges Christen and Rawlinson ruled OSM "hid the ball" about the climate and environmental impacts of expanding the mine. Judge Ryan D. Nelson, a Trump appointee, dissented.

On Tuesday April 26, the Outdoor Rx Coalition will host a press conference and webinar on the movement in New York to help veterans heal from service-related trauma on public lands. The event marks the official launch of the Outdoor Rx Coalition, a partnership of nonprofits, Veterans Service Organizations, universities, and others focused on facilitating access to the outdoors and nature therapy for veterans, active duty servicemembers, and military families. As of 2021, more than 714,000 veterans resided in New York State.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court received a tie vote along party lines in the Senate Judiciary Committee and is expected to advance to the Senate floor for a final vote later this week. Judge Jackson, the first Black woman to be nominated to the High Court, endured racist and outlandish attacks from many Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee during her hearing last month and her nomination will be discharged from the committee after a tie vote between Democrats and Republicans -- yet another unprecedented and unwarranted move by Senate Republicans. No other Supreme Court nominee in modern times has needed a discharge petition to be advanced out of Committee.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report 6 Working Group 3 (WG III) released its new report on climate mitigation methods and how to limit global temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius, covering everything from mitigation pathways to carbon pollution removal, with chapters dedicated to technology and innovation for the first time in IPCC history. Critically, the report also details why mitigation is both economically feasible and necessary.

Today, Public Citizen and the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments joined Sierra Club and others and announced their intent to sue the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failure to appropriately classify Bexar County and San Antonio as a moderate ozone nonattainment area, thereby requiring reductions in harmful nitrogen oxide and volatile organic compounds under the the Clean Air Act.
