In 2017 we are making huge investments in our work to build a more equitable, inclusive and justice-oriented Sierra Club community. We wrote recently about Growing for Change, the Sierra Club’s first-ever all-staff workshop on systemic oppression and how it shows up in our lives and work. Today we’re proud to announce that we’re investing further in the Equity, Inclusion and Justice Department at Sierra Club by hiring three new staff members to help us accomplish more than ever.
There is huge demand within the Sierra Club community for training and skill development on equity, inclusions and justice. That's why we're searching for a training coordinator who can help us manage the many trainings we host and support across the U.S., with participants at every stage of their journey. The training coordinator will have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact by helping hundreds of Sierra Club community members to learn and grow as people, and become powerful advocates for change in their own local communities.
We’re also searching for a cultural and behavioral metrics analyst who will help ground our work in data to ground our work in measureable indicators of change. It is our intent to measure progress by something more than just process and to instead measure our progress by indicators of cultural change and behavioral impact. By hiring a talented data analyst to help us look deeply at our own progress, including an annual cultural assessment to gather information from staff, volunteers and partner organizations on our progress, we can ensure that our efforts are making the maximum impact.
We also recently hired an administrative assistant, who will help us put our commitment to equity, inclusion and justice into practice at every level of the organization by supporting the Equity Department’s operations. The newest member of our team is Cait Lull, a self-identified queer and feminist activist, social worker, justice advocate, and tree hugger based in Denver, Colorado.
Help us find some great folks to join our team by sharing this post. Let your friends know about this opportunity to advance equity, inclusion and justice within the environmental movement, and powerfully influence a community that includes over three million members and supporters.
