The ExCom has nine at-large members, and a representative from each of the three regional Oregon groups. Serving on the ExCom is a commitment to help lead the Chapter through a two-year term. We provide a framework for volunteers to explore, engage, and protect the planet: setting organizational vision, goals, and priorities; taking environmental, political, and legislative positions; directing the Chapter’s budget and other resources; assisting in fundraising; and managing and coordinating Chapter governance, volunteers, and staff. Community organizing, team leadership, and volunteer coordination experience are valuable to us.
Each ExCom member also serves on at least one organizational committee, which dives into finance, personnel, planning, or fundraising in greater depth. Typically the ExCom meets in varying locations in Oregon — though via Zoom during the pandemic —approximately once a month. Each ExCom member is expected to contribute to Chapter fundraising. Candidates should be prepared to devote on average ten hours a month to board work.
5/24/2021: We have filled all our vacancies. If you’re interested in being elected for a term starting in January, please contact ExCom Chair Tom Lum Forest for a candidate application.
