The Mountain Island Educational State Forest will open to the public within the next 3 years if all goes according to plan! Our program will provide an introduction to the Mountain Island site and the other Educational State Forests across the state. The North Carolina Forest Service manages 7 Educational State Forests, 2 State Forests and 1 Recreational State Forest under the umbrella of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  

 Laura Shidal, Forest Supervisor and NC Certified Environmental Educator, Mountain Island Educational State Forest is our speaker. 

 Pizza is served at 6:30 and the program begins at 7. Free and open to the public.
