MD Compliance Officer Opening

MD Compliance Officer OpeningFamiliar with Maryland election law? The MD Chapter Compliance Officer fills a key role in electing environmentally friendly candidates to public office by providing legal advice to help club leaders keep our political activities in compliance with all state laws and Sierra Club policies. Following all the rules for PAC contributions and expenses is a key part of our effectiveness in getting our candidates into office! Contact: Rich Norling.

Op-Ed on Climate Strikes and Beyond Coal

Our Fall Energy Intern Bailey Foster wrote a terrific op-ed last week, connecting the youth climate strikes to the need for local and state action by our elected representatives to transition the state off coal power. Please share the op-ed on your social media with the hashtag #BeyondCoal.

Sign up here to lobby your representatives for coal community transition legislation and add your name to the clean energy petition.
Now, more than ever, we need your talents

Help create SC MD Chapter's 2020 budget and annual plan

If you have experience with finance, planning or budgeting and want to make a real impact on how our chapter operates, please consider joining our chapter's 2020 budget and annual planning team.

In addition to facing the usual challenges of estimating future income, program spending and other expenses, the team will need to propose ambitious but realistic goals for next year and decide how best to rebuild our reserve funds.

The budget and annual planning team's work will begin in October and conclude no later than mid-January, as the 2020 budget and plan will need to be presented to the Chapter Executive Committee for approval in late January.

If you're up to the challenge, please contact Gary.Young@mdsierra.org now and no later than September 30.
