Under a legal agreement, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will determine if pangolin species shall be protected under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). We helped make this victory happen. Our July e-news asked congress to ban wildlife trade to stop the next pandemic with emphasis on the pangolin, the world's most trafficked mammals, in serious trouble because of the trade in their scales, meat, and other parts. As an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act, it will be illegal to trade it.
