Annapolis, MD - On Wednesday, April 3rd, local elected officials and advocates from Montgomery, Prince George’s and Frederick Counties are calling on the Maryland Senate to pass legislation that would provide common-sense safeguards for taxpayers, the environment and the financial health of Maryland by establishing critical oversight for statewide public-private transportation partnerships. This proposed
bill, which already passed the House, comes as Governor Hogan is advancing a 50-year, $11 billion proposal to add hundreds of miles of additional toll lanes on the Capital Beltway and I-270. If enacted,
the proposal would be the largest P3 project in North America.
