Residents Petition the Montgomery Delegation to Stop Hogan’s Highway Project

Montgomery County residents and organizations testify at the Montgomery County Priorities Hearing to Petition the Delegation to Stop Gov. Hogan’s Highway Expansion Proposal

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Wednesday, November 14th, the Montgomery County Delegation will hold a public hearing to give residents the opportunity to raise important issues before them prior to the upcoming 2019 legislative session. Members of the Maryland Sierra Club, Citizens Against Beltway Expansion, DontWiden270.org, and concerned residents and homeowners will testify urging legislators to make stopping the expansion of Gov. Hogan’s harmful proposal to widen lanes on the Capital Beltway, I-270, and the Baltimore Washington Parkway a top priority while fighting for real transportation solutions. The meeting comes after the Delegation met with Secretary Pete Rahn and other officials of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) in October to raise concerns about the proposal and the state’s new draft on the capital budget for transportation project in the next six years.
