Stream Monitoring Made Easy

Saturday, April 11, 2015
3:00 - 4:30 pm
Robinson Nature Center (free admission to the center for program attendees)
6692 Cedar Ln, Columbia, MD 21044

Citizen scientists are needed to monitor the health of our waterways. Rachel Beebe, of the Howard County Office of Community Sustainability, will demonstrate how to use the "Stream mAPPer" smart phone application to provide stream evaluations to the county government for assessment.

The app brings together nature and technology, and is a great way to get outdoors and help officials monitor local streams.

Find the app for Iphone by searching “the stream mapper” in the itunes store, and for Android by searching “stream mapper” in the Google Play Store. See what people have already discovered with the application at www.streammapper.org

The demonstration of the smart phone app will be followed by a survey of the Middle Patuxent (or one of its tributaries). For more information, contact Sue Muller at  smuller@howardcountymd.gov.
