Support Senate Bill 409 / House Bill 449, "Protect our Health and Communities Act", which calls for an 8-year moratorium on hydraulic fracturing for natural gas extraction in Maryland.
Contact the Environment and Transportation Committee, where the bill is currently being considered. Delegate Robert Flanagan, of Howard County's District 9B, serves on the committee. If you live in his district, make sure he knows you support more research into the environmental and health consequences of fracking, and no permission granted to drill for natural gas until the studies are complete.
The Environment and Transportation Committee Hearing will take place on March 11 at 1:00 pm.
