The management of the school system can have a huge impact on the environmental practices of the county. Zaneb Beams, who was endorsed by the Sierra Club as a candidate for Howard County Council four years ago, is now running for a position on the Board of Education. She describes some of the environmental principles she will bring to the Board once elected.
