General Membership Meeting, Climate March Program November 8

The Anne Arundel Sierra Club has called a General Membership meeting November 8, and every member is encouraged to attend.  A special incentive: first-hand accounts, and a great video, about the 400,000-person People’s Climate March in New York City September 21.

“If you come to only one Club event this year, make it this one,” says Group Chair David Prosten.  “And if you’ve never participated in any of our activities before, this is your chance to see what we’re doing and, perhaps, get more involved in our work.”<--break->

The meeting will report on the group’s current activities but look more to the future.  “We want to hear more about what’s on members’ minds: what issues you think need addressing and the direction the club should be going.”

The meeting will be in the fellowship hall at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, November 8.

Several members of the group participated in the Climate March: the Club sponsored a chartered bus for the round trip to New York, virtually every seat filled with Club members and others signed up by our partner for the day, the Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis.

Maryland Sierra Club Beyond Coal Campaign representative David Smedick will be discussing the Club’s energy campaign in the state at the November 8 gathering.  The Group’s executive committee will be there to talk about group activities and answer any questions you may have.  Refreshments will be served.  For more information:  david.prosten@mdsierra.org or 410-703-0847.
