Choices on the path to Zero Waste

This past spring, the Maryland Department of the Environment released a Draft Zero Waste Plan for Maryland.

The plan included some promising proposals, but also has some substantial flaws, both in structure and in the specific plan components.

Baltimore's City Paper publshed an article in July about the problems faced by Energy Answers in trying to build the nations' largest trash burning incinerator less than a mile away from schools and homes in Curtis Bay, a neighborhood south of downtown Baltimore.  Community members continue to speak out about the incinerator.
