Exploring the Woods & Wetlands region
Local outings planned by volunteer leaders of the Woods & Wetlands Group give you opportunities to explore the diverse and wonderful natural places of Lake County, northern Cook County, and beyond:
- Learn about our fragile ecosystems
- Enjoy being fully present among birds, trees, wildflowers, and wildlife
- Understand actions we each can take to protect our world
Local outings include trail hikes, bicycle rides, canoe/kayak paddling trips, and other activities. Many outings are family-friendly.
Local outings are open to all Sierra Club members. Nonmembers are welcome to participate, too!
All outings are led by certified Sierra Club outings leaders who are trained in first aid and CPR.
