If you love hiking, biking, paddling, and other outdoor activities and/or are passionate about nature and the environment, you might be the right person to lead local outings for the Woods and Wetlands Group.
No experience is necessary for volunteer outings leaders. The main requirements: Be enthusiastic about the outdoors and eager to share your love of nature with others.
Our local outings program is designed to introduce people to the wonders of the outdoors and help them develop a deeper connection with nature.
Volunteer outings leaders have the opportunity to plan and lead group outings in their local community, exploring the beauty of nature while promoting environmental awareness. They play a vital role in helping others discover the joys of outdoor activities.
If you or someone you know might be interested in volunteering as a Sierra Club outings leader, please contact Doug Ower at doug.ower@illinois.sierraclub.org.
Sierra Club provides volunteers with all the training and resources they need to get started.
