Members of La Coalition’s Rail Safety Campaign are gearing up for a letters to the editor (LTEs) campaign in the spring. We’ll write about the nature of hazardous materials transported through our neighborhoods. We’ll also outline the need for local emergency preparedness, rail safety, public right-to-know assurances, and transparency of local insurance coverage.

Writing LTEs and submitting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests are skills that every dedicated environmental activist can use.

La Coalition will hold its next Rail Safety Campaign planning meeting on Monday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. Please register to learn what you can do to help address this very important issue. Meetings are free and open to the public.
