The Legendary Mustang Sanctuary mission rescues as many wild mustang horses and burros as it possibly can. Shawn and Kathy Lewis founded the sanctuary in 2008, and became a tax exempt not-for-profit organization in 2011. They collaborate with the Federal Government's, Bureau of Land Management, Department of Interior. The Lewises both grew up around horses - Kathy always wanted a mustang to ride. After she talked Shawn into getting horses, she eventually convinced him to get mustangs and started this important animal program at their farm in Alhambra, IL. A follow-on outing to their farm in early March will be announced.
The program will be at the First Unitarian Church, 110 E. Third Street in Alton and starts at 7:30 PM on Monday, December 14, 2015.
