Speaker Series: May—The 100-Mile Food Imperative

Kathleen Logan Smith will share highlights from the Missouri Coalition for the Environment's St. Louis Regional Food Study, an examination of the food system within 100 miles of the Arch. The study, authored by MCE's Food and Farm Program Director Melissa Vatterott and edited by Logan Smith, compiles food, health, and farm data from 59 counties across two states. Logan Smith, who now works exclusively on local food sustainability, will share a vision that will energize people concerned with planetary ecological perils. Check out the whole study. The program is from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 110 E. Third Street in Alton.  Everyone is invited to join the speaker for dinner at 5:45 p.m. at Mac’s Time Out, 315 Belle St in Alton.
