Idaho Sierra Club Statement of Support for Friends of Minidoka
Idaho Sierra Club supports Friends of Minidoka in their efforts to seek out a more equitable and judicious approval process around the Lava Ridge Wind Project. As we continue to advocate for an equitable transition to clean energy in Idaho, we believe it is critical for decision-makers to listen to the voices of those most impacted by this project, particularly the stewards of the adjacent Minidoka National Historic Site and the community of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals with deep historical ties to that area.
For further context, refer to our recent blog post on the issue here. This statement was cultivated by The Sierra Club Idaho Chapter Equity Team and approved by the Idaho Chapter's Executive Committee.
