Wildlife

Wildlife is integral to wildlands. Without wildlife, the landscape, although perhaps beautiful, is just scenery. With wildlife, the evolutionary dance on the “stage of life” continues to create a world full of biological diversity that is responsive to a changing world. Protecting, preserving, and restoring the full suite of biological diversity that is native to Colorado, and its’ ability to evolve, is the vision that the Roaring Fork Group seeks.

Restoring and protecting the entire suite of native species is essential to maintaining those ecosystem functions that created wildlands and support wildlife.

The most dynamic life force that created the Wilderness that we know in the West is the Gray Wolf. The Roaring Fork Group supports and is working to restore and protect the entire community of life in Colorado, from Gray wolves and coyotes, to Wilson’s Warblers and Greater Sage-grouse, Ute Ladies-tresses Orchids, Dudley Bluff’s Bladderpods, and everyone in between.
