The Colorado Sierra Club is a powerful collective of grassroots changemakers working together across the state to advance climate solutions, act for justice, get outdoors, and protect lands, water, air, and wildlife. We are an organization that believes in the power of working together to make change happen.
As the Colorado chapter of Sierra Club, the largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the U.S., we have helped shape the way people can participate in local, state, and national advocacy and policy work, so that we can better protect the planet—and each other.
Our mission is to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
Stand with us against Trump
Our fight to protect Colorado's environment has entered a new and critical phase. The re-election of Donald Trump means that we will face renewed attacks on the progress we’ve made in addressing climate change, defending our public lands, and safeguarding the health of our communities. Here in Colorado though we are leading the way.
Trump's policies have consistently prioritized corporate profits over environmental protection, and we expect his administration to double down on efforts to roll back crucial environmental regulations. This could mean:
- Opening more public lands to fossil fuel extraction,
- Weakening clean air and water protections, and
- Undermining efforts to combat climate change.
