Post Election Briefing - LA and OC Political Updates

The Angeles Chapter worked hard during the election season, endorsing 81 candidates and 3 ballot measures. This included 20 federal candidates, 22 state candidates, and 39 local candidates.

We also mobilized on 4 priority congressional races in the fall. Our members knocked on doors and made phone calls, highlighting the national importance of parts of LA and Orange Counties. While some of those races were still too close to call at the time, they underscored the critical role our region plays.

On Wednesday, November 13th, at 6:30 PM, the Angeles Chapter Political Committee hosted a virtual post-election briefing. The event covered local risks, how the Chapter was prepared to safeguard key environmental accomplishments, and plans for the future.

The briefing featured our Chapter's Political Committee Chairs, Jason Islas and Margee Hills, along with Sierra Club California's Political Committee Chair, Sharon Koch. They reflected on the Chapter's performance, discussed upcoming strategies, and invited attendees to get involved in shaping the environmental and political landscape.
