Sips + Support! Join Us for an Evening with Change Makers

“Being part of the inaugural cohort of the Sierra Club Activist Academy was a transformative experience. As someone new to the environmental movement, the Academy provided me with the foundational skills and confidence to push myself as an organizer. Thanks to the support and training I received, I am now proud to work in environmental communications for Los Angeles Waterkeeper. This program truly is an incredible resource that’s helping to equip the next generation of environmental activists with the tools they need to make a real impact.”
This is what Dominque Zamora, a participant of our inaugural Activist academy has had to share about the ongoing Sierra Club efforts to invest in our future climate leaders.

The Activist academy leadership program is focused on training these young leaders in a variety of issues and topics, centering a climate and energy justice focus. Join us in supporting and equipping the next - and most powerful - generation of conservation activists.
The Sierra Club Angeles Chapter and Activist Academy is excited to invite you to Sips and Support, a fundraiser for changemakers, on Thursday, June 20th from 6pm-8pm at a private home in Culver City (address given upon registration).
You can register for the event here.
A delectable array of appetizers and desserts, a signature cocktail, fine wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served while guests mingle with Academy students, trainers, community leaders, and supporters who - like you - value the investment in young leaders who are advocating with us for healthy, resilient communities that we all deserve!

Activist Academy Impact:

7 of the 2023 graduates have transitioned to climate justice careers
11 graduates of the 2023 cohort went on to work in the climate and environmental field
Over 8 graduates have taken leadership and stayed connected with the Sierra Club (through our Executive committee, outings and Activist Academy!)
Majority of graduates and participants live in environmental justice communities, seeking programs like the activist academy to advocate for clean air, and climate.
