Earth Month was a breath of fresh air for the members and friends of Sierra Club Angeles Chapter, who laced up their hiking boots and hit the trails for a month full of adventure, exploration, and appreciation for the great outdoors. Here are some highlights:
The Santa Clarita Valley Group Celebrated with an evening stroll through the Paseos in Santa Clarita
Sierra Club Clean Break hosted a picnic in Signal Hill for a day of learning and taking action to advocate for oil well cleanup and a phase-out of the oil drilling in our backyards for good. The event featured guest speakers, breakout groups to discuss strategy and time for connecting with new friends!
The Pasadena Group had 18 hikers trek up to Muir Peaks. Each year, the Pasadena Group sponsors an outing to Muir Peak (4688 ft.) to remember John Muir's birthday and the anniversary of the official naming of Muir Peak, talk about the history of John Muir's visit to Pasadena, his trekking in the local mountains, and his first ascent of the peak in 1877, long before the roads and trails we use now existed.

Tabling at community events was a success for regional group volunteers, as they recruited new members and spread awareness about Sierra Club’s mission to protect and preserve the environment. Volunteers engaged with community members, sharing their passion for the great outdoors and promoting the benefits of the Chapter’s local conservation efforts. Overall, the experience was both rewarding and productive, bringing new energy and enthusiasm to the organization's ongoing work.
