Jennifer in Acadia National Park
The Sierra Club Angeles Chapter welcomes Jennifer Gregg as the new Fundraising Officer on staff at the chapter office. She is excited to join the team on December 1, 2022, and is ready to achieve fundraising goals through focused and engaging campaigns.
Jennifer is an avid hiker, backpacker, surfer, and cyclist. Her favorite place on the planet is Yosemite where she can be found trekking several times every year. Her recreational goals are to hike Machu Picchu and cycle through Spain. She loves to bake for people and loves making people feel welcome, important, and safe.
Jennifer brings over 25 years of fund development experience in the non-profit sector, helping achieve goals through grant writing, events, and relationship building. She has collaborated with cultural arts organizations, youth leadership and foster youth programs, homelessness and housing services, and social justice initiatives across the country to bring equity, inclusion, and hope into the most vulnerable communities.
Growing up in a small town in Northern California, daily experiences shaped Jennifer’s outlook on life. She lived by a lake where exploring nature was possible from dawn to dusk all year long. While rich in adventure, the community she grew up in was economically disadvantaged. The land she came to love is the ancestral land of the Pomo, Wappo, and Miwok tribes and where descendants were impoverished, underserved, and discriminated against. Led by her father, Jennifer was profoundly influenced by the efficacy of advocacy for tribal acknowledgment, access to health services and education, and economic autonomy. Much more work remains and is only possible by engaging in ongoing support. This example of tenacious action remains at the foundation of Jennifer’s purposeful approach to creating meaningful, lasting change in the world.
As a fund developer, Jennifer believes that the best way to influence donor participation is to come from a place of authentic passion, to provide experiences that are relatable, and to ensure that each donor can visualize - then realize - the return on their investment. She believes in the potential for everyone to be stewards of the environment and of humanity.
Jennifer is very excited to take fundraising and donor relationships to the next level for the Angeles Chapter and to leverage that success into making a lasting impact on Sierra Club’s mission.
You can reach Jennifer at Jennifer.Gregg@sierraclub.org or by phone at 213-387-4287 and she’d be delighted to discuss how your donation can help us protect the planet.
