We're Hiring a Fundraising Officer

Our team is growing and we are adding a new position to support and expand our fundraising activities!

Sierra Club is the largest volunteer-led, grassroots environmental organization in the country, with state and regional chapters in all fifty states and Puerto Rico, as well as national staff located across the country. The Angeles Chapter covers Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and includes more than 40,000 members, 100,000 supporters, and 50 volunteer grassroots groups or networks. We rely on our members, donors, and foundations to supplement our funding from the national Sierra Club and advance our mission.

At the Angeles Chapter, we believe in the power of teamwork. Our small staff was mostly hired during the pandemic and we have re-created our systems based on the new normal. We work from home more often than not, but deeply value our time in person. We support a wide range of evolving activities in service to the Sierra Club mission, but we keep each other focused and realistic about how much we can accomplish. We're in this for the long haul, and we use all our vacation days, and celebrate our successes even as we push each other to learn and grow. If this sounds like you're kind of team, and you believe in the mission of the Sierra Club, then we'd love to hear from you.

We asked some of our staff to weigh in and this is what they said:

Conservation Program Manager Kimberly Orbe writes: "I feel extremely blessed to have a strong team of individuals to work with at the Chapter. We value transparency, equity, inclusion, and each other's overall well-being. I am so proud to work alongside others who have a passion for climate, environment, and people. What I especially appreciate the most about working with my team is that we are able to do our work in a manner that prioritizes our humanity, uniqueness, joy, and collaboration. I believe this is what has made us successful in our work here and I am excited to welcome a new member to the team."

Jon Howard, our Communications Coordinator says: "I joined Sierra Club to be a part of something huge, something that is going to change the world for the better, and my experience has far exceeded expectations. The organization is fantastic, the staff brilliant and dedicated, and the fellow volunteers inspiring. Join a team that recognizes and values the benefits and strengths of diversity and encourages respect and trust. There's no place I'd rather be!"
