Join the Vision Webinar on April 6th that reviews CALGEM Rulemaking – an important skill for protecting Southern California

Join the Vision Webinar on April 6th that reviews CALGEM Rulemaking – useful information for any environmentalist wanting to make a difference in Southern California where oil ang gas is involved in any way

Activists cannot impact environmental issues unless they understand the language and processes that government agencies use to monitor and regulate those same issues. If your issues relates in any way to existing oil wells, active oil and gas operations or the impacts of decommissioning oil and gas operations then you must start learning about the California government agency known as CalGEM, which is short for Geologic Energy Management Division.

The Angeles Chapter invites you to join VISION on April 6th at 6pm for a community webinar to learn more about the next steps in the CalGEM rulemaking process and help us understand where to best use our energy to influence the process and make sure it is community-led!

WHEN: April 6th from 6-7:30 pm

WHERE: Zoom, RSVP here

We can’t wait to see you online and be in the community together! Feel free to email Jasmine at jasmine.vazin@sierraclub.org with any questions. Facebook invite here.

If you cannot make the webinar please join our AddUp Campaign: Hold CalGEM Accountable to Protecting Frontline Communities from Oil Wells.

Millions of Californians live next to neighborhood oil and gas operations that cause harmful health issues like cancers, asthma, and reproductive health disorders. Now, Californians on the frontlines have the first-ever opportunity to influence the laws that mandate a distance between industrial fossil fuel operations and the communities they pollute. This past fall, VISION’s campaign to end neighborhood oil and gas drilling in California collected more than 65,000 public comments from concerned residents - but our work isn’t over!
