Help Keep California Green!

The California Sierra Club Political Action Committee (PAC) is holding its annual fundraiser online Sunday, August 8th from 4 pm to 6 pm.   The PAC contributes to state and local candidates statewide.

As California emerges from the pandemic, our elected officials must prioritize the environment at all levels of government to ensure a sustainable planet. We all must take an active role in this effort to get back on the right track. And with your help, the Sierra Club can make it happen. We don’t have big corporate contributors, and the travel events that raised half our annual funding have been suspended due to the pandemic.  That means we need you to pitch in with a donation more than ever.  The 2022 elections are less than a year away, and funding from our PAC is an important component of our political activity.

This year’s fundraiser makes the connection between political action and the protection of our environment. All of California’s advances to protect the environment, from the Coastal Act to the Air Resources Board to the Porter-Cologne Water Act and greenhouse gas reduction legislation, come from an engaged citizenry who supports pro-environment candidates.  At our August 8th fundraiser, In addition to networking with fellow political activists from across the state, we will be honoring environmental heroes from across the state Including members of Congress Maxine Waters, Katie Porter, Mike Levin State Senator Josh Newman and a special award  for the Godinez High School Environmental Club, all of whom have worked and voted consistently to protect the environment in California.  The event will be hosted by State Senator Henry Stern and our special guests Sierra Club President Ramon Cruz and Executive Director Michael Brune will participate. See all the event details at our event webpage. You can become a sponsor or buy a ticket here or donate any amount to the PAC here.  Every dollar is appreciated and makes a difference.
