The California coastline is threatened by a desalination facility proposed to create fresh water from the ocean in Huntington Beach. Water from this proposal is just too harmful to the environment and the economy!
Please sign our online petition to the message that water from this plant is bad business!
The water created from this proposal would be more expensive than current water supplies and would increase the price of water for in Orange County.
Currently the Orange County Water District is the only major water agency interested in purchasing this water supply. If they agree, it would mean a "take or pay" permit, requiring the agency to pay for the full capacity of the plant, whether the water is needed or not!
This one-sided deal would leave Orange County water users on the hook for the cost.
Speak out against this bad proposal. Let your voice be heard!
We've asked the Coastal Commission to deny this project. Not we must tell Governor Brown and the Orange County Water District the project is bad business.
