Crippling drought. Devastating wildfires. Superstorm Sandy. Climate has come home -- and the American people get it. Sierra Club will be making noise at the largest climate rally in American history, and 2013 must be the year of climate solutions. It is time to respond, and the next step President Obama must take is to reject the Keystone XL pipeline.
In Los Angeles:
Angeles Chapter and Sierra Club Beyond Coal join the national movement with a rally at 1 p.m. in downtown Los Angeles to show solidarity with the rally in Washington, D.C. The point? To tell the president he must lead the fight against climate change, starting with rejection of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline and to demand an energy policy focusing on efficiency and conservation, integrated with a clean, renewable energy plan – one that breaks the addiction to dirty and dangerous fuels like coal, natural gas fracking, nuclear energy and tar sands.
Meet at the Paseo de la Plaza at Olvera Street for the march to City Hall. Sign up on Facebook to join and invite friends to come too.
