Every year, the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club holds elections to select new representatives to its governing bodies. All Sierra Club members who live in the Angeles Chapter area are eligible to vote. By voting, you participate in governing the Chapter.
This year, voting begins on November 15 and ceases on December 14, 2011.
To vote, visit https://www.escvote. com/angeles by typing this into your browser's address field (not the search field). Note that the address begins with 'https:' (not 'http:'). That extra 's' keeps your voting secure.
You'll need your eight-digit, Sierra Club membership number. It is printed on the label of this issue of the Southern Sierran and can also be found on your membership card.
When you have reached the voting website, you'll see the list of candidates for Chapter Executive Committee. There are eight candidates running for five open positions. Please vote for five or fewer candidates. Statements for each of the candidates may be viewed on-line, as well as their pictures. They are also provided below.
You will also be directed to the regional group to which you belong. The number of candidates varies from one regional group to another. Instructions regarding each regional group election will be shown. In addition, you may write in candidates in each group election. You may vote in only the regional group where you reside. Statements of the candidates may be viewed on line and below. However, not all regional groups submitted candidate statements.
If you choose to do so, you may ask for and receive a paper ballot. To request a paper ballot, please go to angeleshelp@electionservicescorp.com or call 866-720-4357 toll-free. Please have your membership number handy.
