Baltimore Inspiring Connections Outdoors (BICO) was founded in 1999 with the goal of providing under-served youth with safe, respectful, and inspiring adventures at no cost to them. Over the last 24 years BICO has organized hundreds of outings serving nearly ten thousand youth. This could not have been done without the support of the many volunteers who lead outings and provide their expertise in a variety of ways to our all-volunteer organization.
BICO's philosophy is to offer youth engaging outdoor experiences which provide an on-ramp to make connections between nature and the impact people have on it which can lead youth to caring about and acting as stewards of the enviroment we all share.
A few examples of BICO outings include:
- Bicycling at Carroll Park
- Camping at Patapsco Valley State Park
- Canoeing on the Gunpowder Falls
- Disc Golf at Druid Hill Park
- Fossil Hunting at Calvert Cliffs State Park
- Hiking at Lake Roland
- Snow Tubing at Avalanche Xpress
- Swimming at Greenbrier State Park
