June Membership Meeting: Is This the Year for Wild Olympics?
For 10 years, Sierra Club has been closely involved in locally-driven efforts to protect rivers and old growth forests on the Olympic Peninsula. Alex Craven, Sierra Club's forest campaign representative, will be the guest at our June membership meeting to discuss Wild Olympics and the efforts to protect old growth and clean water. The presentation will offer a history of organizing and outreach efforts, an overview of the Wilderness and Wild & Scenic River protections outlined in Wild Olympics, and maps of the proposal. Additionally, attendees can expect to gain insights about the path forward for the Wild Olympics Act to reach President Biden's desk.
