The Sierra Club has long called for a fundamentally different approach to trade – one that prioritizes the needs of people and planet. We will work with our labor, health, consumer, family farm, and other allies to ensure that any corporate trade deals that threaten these priorities meet the same fate as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Unfortunately, status-quo trade institutions like the World Trade Organization continue to undermine climate and environmental progress, and trade deals like the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) would simply entrench the old corporate model.
