Come meet some wildlife on October 10!

Rescuing nature’s treasures: the Wildlife Center of Texas rehabilitation program is presented by Monica Jarisch, Jean Watson, and Randolph Watson.

Harris Hawk

The Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center of Texas is one of the largest wildlife care facilities in the country and cares for more than 12,000 native Texas animals each year. In this presentation attendees will receive a glimpse of what this amazing organization does to help injured, ill, and orphaned wildlife return to their natural environments. Presenters Monica Jarisch, Jean Watson, and Randolph Watson will share stories about some of the interesting cases that have entered their doors and provide tips on how people can coexist peacefully with our wild neighbors. Come meet some wildlife! The Wildlife Ambassadors include a Red Tailed Hawk, a Harris’s hawk, a Northern Crested Cara Cara, and a Great Horned Owl.  Come have an up close and personal encounter with some native Texas wildlife. The ambassadors are for education purposes, and are non-releasable because they would be unable to survive in the wild. The Wildlife Center holds special education permits, which allows them to be kept in captivity.  Q&A will follow the presentation.
