For official information on voting in Texas, visit votetexas.gov

What's new

In July 2021, the Texas legislature signed into law SB 1 that imposes several new restrictions on voting:
- 24-hour voting is prohibited.
- Drive-through voting is prohibited.
- Voting by mail is available only to those over age 65, out of the country on Election Day, or have a disability or illness that prevents them from voting in person. An ID (Driver's license number or last four digits of the Social Security Number) must be provided on the application, and the same ID on the ballot envelope when voting by mail.
- Officials can no longer mail unsolicited mail-in ballot applications.
- Persons assisting voters must fill out a document stating their relationship to the voter, and take an oath that they will obey certain limits on their help.

Note that redistricting may have changed the boundaries of some districts. Verify what is on your ballot before voting because you may be in a different district now.
