Brazos Bend State Park, A Gem in Our Community
On April 13, Jessica Bullard will provide a close look at a state park gem in our community. Brazos Bend State Park is just 45 miles from Downtown Houston and boasts a wide variety of recreational opportunities, with wildlife viewing, natural history education, camping, over 30 miles of trails to explore, and an astronomical observatory. Don't miss the chance to hear about the second annual Brazos Bend Expo, coming up on Saturday May 6, where the community and the outdoors come together to celebrate 100 years of Texas State Parks.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Texas State Parks. To celebrate, many of the state parks are scheduling special centennial events on various dates through the year. See links below for calendars and details. A video on the history of the Texas State Park system is also linked below.
