On June 26, 2022, former Houston Sierra Club Chair, Tom Ivy, died at the age of 82.
Tom filled many positions for the Houston Sierra Club over the years. Tom had a special affinity for water quality and served as the Houston Sierra Club’s representative on the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s, Bacteria Implementation Group (BIG), which meets several times a year to discuss bacteria pollution in Houston Area streams, rivers, lakes, and bays and how to reduce this potential human health hazard.
Donations in Tom’s name can be made to the Sierra Club Foundation (Lone Star Chapter) and the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
Tom, we will miss you, but every time the Sierra Club fights for clean water, it will be part of your legacy. Adios, Amigo!
