Buy Recycled! to Support Recycling

Each of us can support recycling and help grow a circular economy by purchasing products made from recycled materials.
A variety of paper products are made with post-consumer content. Look for the label that describes the percentage of  "post-consumer" recycled content. For example, there are brands of toilet paper, paper towels and other household paper products that are made mostly from post-consumer content. Both Whole Foods and Trader Joe's have their own brands. There are also brands of stationery, and other paper and cardboard products that are produced with post-consumer recycled content.

Many plastic containers for various products are now being made with some percentage of post-consumer recycled plastic content. Again, look for a label that mentions the "post-consumer" recycled content.

Below are some website links that explain the benefits of buying 'recycled'. There is currently a renewed push by the plastic industry and related trade groups to advance and improve the recycling of various plastic products. Plastic has been a problem for recycling because of the many different types of plastic, and the wide range of products. Due to worldwide concern about ever increasing plastic pollution, there is now significant pressure on the plastic industry to develop solutions. There is also pressure on governments and regulatory agencies to adopt policies that address plastic waste issues.
