Bayou Banner January 2022

Lone Star Sierra Club
February 2021
In the mild December weather, we might forget the power outages last year. Remember the big freeze in February 2021 and power out for days?
Although this winter started mild, even warm, the freeze will happen again, some year soon, and Texas needs to be prepared. On December 16, Sierra Club members, supporters, and allied organizations demanded that Governor Abbott, the PUC, and ERCOT fix our electric grid, so we do not have our power out when we freeze again!
On January 13, join us for a presentation about the Memorial Park Land Bridge and Prairie Project..
On January 19 the Bay Area Sierra Club  will host a speaker from Armand Bayou Nature Center.

Thanks for all you do,

The COVID-19 crisis has not passed and continues to disproportionately harm  Black, Indigenous, and Latinx people and other communities of color. The pandemic has revealed how the communities hardest hit are often the same communities that suffer from high levels of pollution and poor access to healthcare. The fight for environmental justice cannot be separated from the fight for racial justice.
