When the leaves turn to gold, fall has arrived in Houston, even though the weather may still be warm. This winter, we are hoping for mild weather, because fixing the grid has not happened. Profits over people.
Houston has some of the worst air quality in the nation, according to Your Body, Your Air, an online exhibit (see article in this newsletter). Some of the Bay Area Sierra Club members described their own personal experiences in their October Zoom meeting about the Lubrizol accident. What are we breathing in the Houston area, and how does it impact our health?
On December 15, the Bay Area Sierra Club will have a holiday party on Zoom.
On December 9, the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) will brief us on the findings of the 2021 Galveston Bay Report Card and other news.
Our Houston Group Executive Committee has an election in December, where we elect our new leaders. Watch for the members ballot in your email in December.
Thanks for all you do,

The COVID-19 crisis has not passed and continues to disproportionately harm Black, Indigenous, and Latinx people and other communities of color. The pandemic has revealed how the communities hardest hit are often the same communities that suffer from high levels of pollution and poor access to healthcare. The fight for environmental justice cannot be separated from the fight for racial justice. |
