Bay Area Sierra Club Zoom Meeting: "An Actively Antiracist Sierra Club" on Wednesday, September 16, 7:00 pm
 
The September meeting and program will be conducted via Zoom.

Starts 6:30 pm for social time; 7:00 pm for program.
 
September Program:
The Bay Area Sierra Club will feature the invited presentation, "An Actively Antiracist Sierra Club", by local Bay Area member Douglas Yazell. He will cite the July 22, 2020 email note from Sierra Club President Ramon Cruz (subject line: Reckoning With the Sierra Club's Complex History), the first in a series of reckoning posts by Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune ("Pulling Down Our Monuments"), an article dated July 8, 2020, in Sierra, the national magazine of the Sierra Club, "Racism is Killing the Planet", by Sierra Club Director of Strategic Partnerships Hop Hopkins, and at least one other related document.  After the presentation, at least half of the 90 minutes after 7:00 PM will be devoted to member comments, moderated by Linda King. 
 
Visitors are welcome.
 
Bay Area meetings are on 3rd Wednesday of the month, and start at 6:30pm for social hour; speaker and discussion from 7-8:30 pm.
