Houston Group General Meeting for January

Trash in Our Waterways: the story of the Galveston Bay Watershed Trash Action Plan and ongoing efforts to reduce waterborne pollution from our streams and bayous to the bay. Our speaker will be Amanda Hackney of Black Cat GIS & Biological Services.

Come hear how the issues of fishing line, entangled wildlife, and ongoing waterway pollution instigated a whole bunch of "trashy" folks to develop a plan to combat litter on our Galveston Bay area waterways. We'll discuss the formation of the Partners in Litter Prevention group, the purpose and goals of the Action Plan, and efforts of PLP stakeholders across the three goals of the Action Plan in the lower Galveston Bay watershed. Ongoing projects and ways that the community can get involved will also be covered.
