The 86th Texas Legislature is in session. Our state lawmakers meet for only 140 days every other year, so there is a lot at stake and little time to do something about it. With legislative committees being formed, and budget hearings set to begin, the Capitol halls are already full of lobbyists buying lunches and peddling bills. I’ll be honest, we don’t have the financial resources of the big polluters, but we do have people power. Yes, I’m talking about you!
We’re doing something different this year. After so many sessions of being surrounded by fossil fuel lobbyists and other corporate special interests, we’re turning to our members and supporters to be the voices for the environment and its people. Lawmakers may listen to our lobby team at the Capitol, but they’ll pay attention to their constituents.
So if you were fired up during last year’s elections, or been fired up for years, there’s a lot you can do!
1) Find Your Lawmakers

3) Let Them Hear It!
Don’t wait to take action. Your State Representative and State Senator will make decisions for you about air pollution, clean energy, water, and public lands unless they hear from you.
