Message from the Chair
Dear Members and Followers.
Regretfully our volunteer leadership recruitment efforts have again been unsuccessful, and the Group faces 2025 without leadership and unable to meet the Sierra Club's expectations for a formal group. Therefore, beginning 2025 all programs such as hikes, meetings, socials and Adopt-a-Highway will discontinue, and the December E-News issue will be the last one.
On behalf of present and past Bartram Group leaders, I recognize and value the involvement, efforts and contributions of Bartram members and volunteers have made over the years. Since 1971 the Bartram Group has played an instrumental role in stewarding conservation protections in our Upstate community, as well as, championing state, national and global environmental issues.
In 2024, the Bartram's legacy was highlighted and strengthened. I hope you get a chance to read more about these specific legacy projects and the history of the William Bartram Group highlighted in this E-News issue.
It has been my honor to have served on the Executive Committee of the William Bartram Group. My sincere thanks to all Bartram leaders' and members.
Gratefully,
Kathleen Weatherford
Chair, William Bartram Group
