Christiana Figueres is a Costa Rican diplomat. In 2010, following the failure of the UN climate conference in Copenhagen, she was appointed executive director of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and in that role led the process that culminated in the 2015 Paris climate accord.
