The Future Looks Greener

Inside of a TeslaIt was a gloomy morning socked in with a low marine layer on Harbor Blvd at West Channel Park on September 9, but people started coming in groups after a slow start. On that day, National Electric Drive Week was held next to the farmer’s market which was a great spot for curious people. A lot of impressive electric cars, especially Tesla, filled the lot and visitors lined up to ride or test drive a Tesla.

Another fun find at the show? Electric bicycles. I got the chance to talk to Frank Laza who owns a rental shop on Harbor Blvd. A true local entrepreneur, Frank made his idea to build electric bicycles and electric boats a reality. I took a look at his bicycles and they were impressive. With one full charge a bike can go 25 to 35 miles and some can be folded to put in the trunk of any vehicle. No need for those bike racks on the back of your car! If the battery dies you can still ride the bicycle manually. Go see or rent his creations and and try it out!

Electric Bike Supply

Change is coming and electric cars are getting more affordable. If most people drive an electric car and or electric bicycles in the future we will be one step closer to a greener Earth.
