The Conejo Group is located in the eastern portion of beautiful Ventura County in Southern California. We are in one of the five Mediterranean climate zones in the world with warm to hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters.

The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area preserves one of the best examples of a Mediterranean climate ecosystem in the world. It also protects one of the highest densities of archaeological resources in any mountain range in the world. The Santa Monica Mountains NRA contains 154,095 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains of the Transverse Ranges between the Pacific Ocean and inland valleys.  In size the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is the largest urban national park in the United States. The overall administration is by the National Park Service coordinating with state, county, municipal, and university agencies.

We enjoy hiking and backpacking year round. Surrounded by many open space parcels within a short distance of our communities.  We enjoy skiing downhill and cross country along with snowshoeing in our normal winter months in many areas of California some within a few hours by automobile.
