Exploring the Western United States
The monthly meeting of the Los Serranos Group of the Sierra Club is Tuesday, February 20, at 7:00 PM. Jim Vanderaa will give a presentation on a summer road trip in the Western Untited States. Meeting is held in the Creative Corner room at The Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, 11200 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga, CA. New members and the public are welcome. Jim Vanderaa, who has previously been a guest speaker at the Los Serranos Group meetings presenting on his trips to Mt. Everest Base Camp, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the volcanoes of Ecuador, returns with stories of adventure closer to home. Jim and his 16 year old son took a summer road trip to Mt. Wheeler and the Great Basin National Park in Nevada, the solar eclipse in Idaho, to the rim of the Mt. St. Helens crater in Washington, and to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite.
