The Borough of West Chester, Pennsylvania on Wednesday became the 45th municipality in the United States and second in Pennsylvania to commit to transition to 100 percent clean, renewable energy. The Borough Council voted unanimously to establish a goal of moving West Chester to 100 percent clean and renewable energy just a week after nearby Phoenixville made a similar 100 percent commitment.

NEW YORK -- Today, California Governor Jerry Brown, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Washington Governor Jay Inslee, the co-chairs of the U.S. Climate Alliance, announced that the 14 states and Puerto Rico that are participants in the Alliance -- California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the newest state, North Carolina -- are on track to meet their commitments under the Paris Agreement. Today’s announcement also included the release of a report that tracks each state’s emissions across economic sectors and lays out pathways for further climate action.

Omaha, NE -- Today, the Sierra Club released a poll detailing Nebraskans’ attitudes on the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline and transitioning to 100 percent clean, renewable energy. The poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP), found that 58 percent of Nebraska voters believe clean, renewable energy projects like wind and solar will benefit the state more than investing in fossil fuel projects like the Keystone XL pipeline.

WASHINGTON, DC - The Sierra Club is taking the EPA to court to hold the Agency accountable for its failure, under Scott Pruitt, to respond to basic Freedom of Information Act requests within the timeline required by law, or even to provide estimates of when such requests might be addressed.
